UPDATE:
I lost the hammer I think if I had did more dips on it I might have been able to save it, but I wasn't sure if I could do more then one dip. I talk to a guy at one of the aquarium stores I go to and he said I should have done a dip every day for 10-15min for up to a week. I think if I had done that from the beginning I might have saved it. The reason I say this is because when I did the first dip it stopped dying for a day or two and then it sped up again. A little info for some one else who might run in to this same problem.
My other hammer is doing great and I hope that the clowns stay away from it.
