55 gal fuge project

Iam in the middle of a fuge project and was wondering on how deep the mud depth should be?
I was thinking 4 inchs should be ok.what do you guys think?

I am guessing since you are using mud, that you want to grow seagrasses or use it for natural nitate reduction. If that is so, then 6" would be a better depth. Four inches is kind of in the middle and doesn't do so much that is beneficial and actually can be worse as far as nitrate reduction is concerned.

Update its looking good got the skimmer up and running today.

heres the skimmer after 5 hours running
