100 gallon rubbermaid tub leaking

I just got to filling it and it is dripping at the screw part so i tighten it up and still its dripping. My mom said it had to go over the square part to stop the leaking and that it will fix it by equaling the pressure.Is this true.

Can you explain this better? I'm at a loss for what you are asking.

like it is dripping out of the parts and my mom said she has that happen and it happen before it went all the way over the outlet and she says that once it goes over it will be fine or should i just seal the whole thing up with tape and if thats the case what kind.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is the bulkhead leaking? The bulkhead is the threaded coupler that attaches to the side of the tub and accepts the PVC drain pipe or outlet pipe. Can you post a picture of what is happening?

its not the bulk head and right now it is empty if we seal it just to stop it from leaking.

It is fixed we just had to push something and it works now so i guess its going to be water change on wednesday.
