    The Bluespot Club

I hope to be a member here soon. I've set up a AP24 and buried a PVC tunnel under the sand for a jawfish. My tank has cycled, but I wanted to wait a little while before adding a jawfish. I'll probably do that if I can find one in April.

    Project 58!! (Image intense)

That pump is equivalent to the Iwaki MD20 and is a pressure rated pump. I have a pump collection under my tank, next to my tank.....:( I can understand why you'd want to avoid that.

I'm using a PanWorld 40PX. Very quiet pump. But now that I know about your steam-heat plumbing--I'm wondering if the CL-280 will be enough chiller??? :( Although one of the reviewers on PA claims a 12 degree swing on a 58 gal.

Nick, I have that little Pacific Coast 1/10 HP on my tank and it does great. Very quite and it looks nice too if it has to set out where it's visible. Standpipe looks great!

Yeah, but who am I to judge? I've been doing a lot of that myself lately. :D

    Flame Hawkfish

Flamehawk's don't have a swim bladder, so he kind of hops from one perch to another. He especially likes to perch in my pocillopora eydouxi and wait for me to approach the tank with food :D He's almost always visible, but not overly active because of his poor swimmming ability. He's one of...

I have one that hasn't yet bothered my one peppermint shrimp; however, he is very well fed. They are pretty cute :)

    Sump cleaning?

:D That's definitely my least favorite job:D I have a small filter tower in mine that has a 3" x 4" filter pad in it that I change out 2-3 times a week. It catches most of the crud. I stir up what does get through and try to siphon it out when I do my weekly water changes...

    lighting advice

checked out your gallery--great looking tank. I have 2 - 250w MH and 2 - 110w VHO over my 90 and it's sps. I think what your proposing is overkill for softies. I'm not sure I've seen 20k bulbs on a softie tank? I'm not an expert on softies by any means, so hopefully someone who is will...
