Halimeda Macroalgae

Calcareous Macroalgae.
H. opuntia is the most common of the Halimeda's and is often found on our live rocks. They
will grow suddenly from apparently bare rock to form large stands and may disappear just as
fast. They need calcium ions and fairly high alkalinity to grow AND the nitrates and phos-
phates levels must be kept very low.

Not very good at nutrient export.
