Saturday I ordered my RedSea Reefer 350 white and hope that this thread to be the log of my tank from the beginning.
It is my first RedSea tank, but since long I waited to enter the RedSea Club owners
Delivery term - 4-6 weeks, so I will receive it at the end of June or mid Jully. Shipping cost me + 100 EU for 30 km between shop and house, but at least can be done on Saturday when will be at home.
Plans are to start as much from scratch and not use things from old tank.
- Lights - DYI LED system already in tests; still need some small changes, but full story of it at http://www.reefsanctuary.com/forum/...questions-to-ask-details-to-show.93450/page-3
- Rock - dry or live.... this is the question
- Sand - RedSea sands?? Are OK?
- Return pomp - no idea, as never used one in the past - what are the great candidates for 3000l/h??
- Skimmer - Bubble Magus Curve 7 - probably overrated and maybe a bit pricey?? Opinions?
- Heating - some 2x250W or 2x300W probably would be OK. Being a rimless tank and as in winter in house may be around 19°C (during the day, nobody home, heating goes on low) - I hope will be enough.
- Flow - AquaMedic EcoDrift 8... Start with one, adding eventually the second later.
For start up I plan the RedSea plan, or just dead shrimp way, but for sure no live rock.
Nothing is ordered yet, except the tank, so I am fully open to suggestions.
I love the look of those tanks (not mine, just pics from web) and I hope to manage to build something like that. All ideas and suggestions are very welcome
