My new 180 reef Tank

This dream got started when I would just drop my jaws looking at reefs from Pucci, MtnDewMan, Tubs, Steve Weast, JB NY, AcroporaUK, 64Ivy, reefbaum and Robz just to name a few. I just wanted someday to give myself a chance.

With a lot of sacrificing I have been able to get my project started. Rob from "Oceans Below" in Palm Beach Gardens and Eric Sturz have been great soldiers. Robz has been helping me in more ways than one. Thanks to Rob I was able to have my stand and canopy made from a great Cuban carpenter in Miami(Arquimedez Dias)

The tank is finally up and running although with a few things yet to be put together. I still need to install the TUNZE Turbelles and the multicontroller, the RO unit with the auto Top off and a back up in case one fails. Also still to complete is the set up of the Reactor a the ICE cap fans in the canopy.

Today I added a nice center Fiji Live Rock(37 Pounds in one rock)

Here is my set up:

-1 180 gallon tank with 3 sides of starphire glass, the Eurobrace is also made from starphire glass and it has one additional brace in the center of the tank.

-1 Artica Chiller 1 HP
-3x Spider reflectors
-3x 400 watt electronic ballast (blue line)
-1 660 ICE electronic Ballast
-3x 400 watt Radiums - 20k
-3x 5 feet long URI VHO super actinic bulbs
-1 strip of Marc's Moonshine Magnum lights
-2 ICE CAP fans
-1 SCWD Wave machine
-1 1800 mag(main return to the tank)
-1 700 mag runs the Chiller
-1 Maxijet 600 (return pump from the sump to the refugium)
-50 gallon sump/10 gallon refugium
-1 ASM G4 Skimmer
-1 Sedra 5000(runs the ASM G4 Skimmer
-2x 6000 TUNZE Turbelles
-1 TUNZE Multi controller
-1 DELTEC PF 600s Calcium Reactor rated for 425 gallons of heavy stocking and heavy illumination
-Back of the tank is painted with black paint(The overflows are made of Black Acrylic)
100 pounds of Live sand

Looks like an awesome setup Playabrisa.

I'm humming the tune to the old Carly Simon song Anticipation.

"Anticipation, Anticipation
Is making me late
Is keeping me waiting" whoa, oh, oh oh

Can we see a pic of a 37 Lb rock?
Keep em coming

Looks good. Keep up the good work. I can't wait to move down to West Palm and maybe come down and check it out in person.

By the way, start working out so you don't get a hernia helping me move my tank in:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Thank you guys!

Here you go sharks. Sorry that the lights were out, so here you have the Rock under the Moon lights.

I started moving Zoanthids and Ricordias tonight and placed them in a corner just for now. When I move the live rock from the other tank I will be able to start having fun with the aquascape.

By the way 180 is actually a relatively small tank sharks:) I am running out of room already and I have not bought a coral yet.

Oooops sorrry that picture came out really bad. I have just replaced it with another picture from the refugium

Alberto I look forward to meet you.

Thanx Dennis.

Here is a close up of the little mini jets that create current in different directions in the refugium.
