Conchs or nassarius snails? Do you realize they get several inches long? I would think 2 is a maximum for a 55. I've never heard real numbers but that is what I would go with.
They are super cool critters. They kind of look like an elephant and their eyes peeking up just make me laugh.

yea, i was talking about conchs.
i thought 2 also, but wanted to ask before i ordered them, and they starved or something.
i have 10 onyx nassarious snails coming, and ill try to give them a call and add 2 conchs tomorrow.

I honestly don't know though I suspect they would be. Really I was basing that on the size most of all. The first one I got was really big. I want to say over 3 inches long. I still have the shell somewhere. I have seen very small ones and I really don't know how fast they grow but that is my opinion anyway.

That is awfully big for nassarius. Unless there is a different kind. All of my nassarius are quite small. I have a couple of queen conchs that are more or less the size of a small turbo but the one king I had was way bigger than that.

Looks like a queen conch to me but either one is good. It says max size 4 inches so what I said applies anyway. I wouldn't put more that 2 in my 125. There just is not enough room around the rocks and corals. My actual open sandbed is relatively small. At least not big enough to support those.
