Clown Mating Dance? Or wishful thinking?

For the past 15 min since I have been watching, my smaller clown has been chasing my larger clown around the tank wagging his tail at the bigger clown. Sometimes the little guy is almost vertical while wagging his tail.


Since I dont know, is this a mating dance? or is it wishful thinking on my part?

I dont know about the wiggling thing together but the little one (assuming its the male) is all about showing his tail and wiggling it in front of the bigger one (assuming its the female).

The bigger would swim away to the far side ot the tank and then turn around and go back to the little one who has swam toward her. And then he wiggles it again.

now that the lights are on actinic only, they are just swimming around normal like.

Mine 'shimmy' their entire body when they dance.
The male (smaller) dances for the female mostly.

Likely wishful thinking, but i could be wrong. Its pretty normal for fish to chase each other...

My clowns do this all the time for the past two years and so far no babies
