Zoa and urchin

Thanks for the help you have lent.

My question today is: I had a friend give me two little patches of purple zoa's. I have a hitchhiker urchin, very small nickle-sized and rose/purple colored. It seems he has taken both patches of zoa's and arranged them on his back (I guess). Should I remove them? I gave them a little tug and they are stuck pretty good. He is traveling around with about 10 polyps of zoa on his back right now and I'm not sure what to do.

Thanks
Phillip

My Urchin does this, he loves my rics as well, I just getnly pull them off and put them back. It will probably be a never ending battle though. Good Luck.

I just leave them. I think it is kind of cool to have mobile corals. You could remove them if you like and try to re-attach them to a rock but be sure to wear gloves. Zoas have a very potent palytoxin and you need to protect yourself.

I think I will leave them alone. They are actually all hanging out on the same rock they started on, and the arrangment looks better than when I did it.
I was just worried the urchin was hurting them, but they seem to be happy.

thanks for the replies
