We have those in Florida, though we do not call them Cane Spiders. Hunstman Spider seems to be a more common name. I had one jump on me when I was in the shower once. After that, I always checked the shower curtain before entering.

wimps..ever seen a cane spider? haha.

down in baja, my aunts brother and i were at this lil bar on the beach.

a cane spider dropped onto our table.

so coming from the hill, i see this thing that looks like a wolf spider on steroids.

Ken goes to mess w/ it and i was like

"Dont mess with homeboy, he looks pissed. thing will kick your ass"

"Pissed my ass" says ken, and wiggles his finger at it like 6 inches away.

thing makes a half turn towards ken and just LEAPS onto his hand and bit the living hell out of him like 3 times.

then it just kinda walked off.

moral of the story, dont wiggle things at cane spiders

Yep, I'm a wimp! Spiders are my downfall. I'm not afraid of too many things, but spiders are one. I've gotten over the worst of it but they still give me the creeps.

We have wolf spiders here and I don't like them one bit! I don't want to think about cane spiders, thank-you-very-much! :lookaroun

i keep black widows as pets.

key is to find a baby female.

when they're tiny they're all multicolored and uber aggressive.

its nice to grow them from a dinky lil baby.

also, i get babies just as a precaution. sexually mature females can store spermicles internally for months.

the biggest one i ever had i grew from a lil baby for about 3.5 years.

her butt was the size of a quarter, and her leg span approached 4 inches.

she kinda reminded me of the queen in aliens
