White Algae??

I am not even sure if this is algae, but it is a white slimy looking blob encasing my LR. Any ideas? I searched online, but couldnt find anything similar. Its dead center of this pic...

It looks like a sponge to me. Shouldn't be a problem. They will come and go depending on the amount of excess nutrients in the system.

I think its a sponge also but watch it cause some sponges will smother or cover your coral.
