Using biopelets in a fowlr

Hi. When I bought my skimmer, I got a free 1 liter container of some bio pellets. I know reefers mostly use these, but was wondering if anyone keeping a fowlr has used these? I've heard that the higher bioload in a fowlr may cause bacterial blooms with biopellets, but have also heard that biopellets are a great way to reduce nitrates and some phosphates. Anyone have any opinions or personal preferences about biopellets in a fowlr system? My tank isn't up and running yet so I'm debating either buying a reactor for these biopellets or selling the biopellets.
Thanks.

good question! Id think they would work in a reef because your always trying for low nutrient levels, don't know if they would be quick enough to keep up to a fowlr?
