Sun Coral Fragging

how do you frag a sun coral? is there a specific size the coral must be before fragging it?

this one I don't have any experience with, but you should be able to cut it between the polyps and mount them where you want. but I'll let someone with more experience chime in with some better advice.

I've actually fragged sun polyps before. You can frag down to a single polyp as long as the polyp head and stem remains in tact it'll survive. The actually polyp may not open until a few days after the fragmentation though (through my experience)

how do you frag it without hurting it?

depending on the form and shape of the colony you have, you can frag a single polyp or 3 or 4 heads of the colony farthest away from the center of the colony. I used a razor blade to make an outline of where i was going to frag, then i used a small hammer and chisel.
