pH fluctuations w/ adding LR

I've already searched for info on this and couldn't really come up with anything definitive...does anyone know if it's normal to experience a drop in pH (.05-.08) after adding live rock to a new tank? I'm wondering if taking established rock and putting it into a tank without a sufficient biological buffer would account for this. Thoughts?

You might experience such a drop.

There are a vast number of biological processes going on in a reef system. Some will lower pH. Others will raise it. As long as this is not extreme, don't worry about it. You can often do a lot more harm than good by chasing a number.

The key to this is how is the livestock doing? If it's all doing well, go very slowly with messing with water parameters.
