mandarin breeding

Just kind of throwing this out there, but does anyone know for sure whether or not red and green mandarins (or spotted, for that matter) could or would cross breed?
My first guess would be that as the species are so close, they should much like finches, but I wonder if anyone ever has had experience with it?

well you need to provide the right settings and conditions for them so that they'll breed, and you're golden! JK i don't know, but I don't think they can cross breed.
