is this green and purple coraline algae

ive heard that green coraline algae turns purple or pink is this true. At first i thought this purple might have been cyano but its not slimy or stringy its hard.

well is it on the rock or on the sand? if on rock, I think they will turn color to purple. but not, if they are on the sand , it might be cyano

No, if its green coraline algae that's its color. It is slower growing than the normal purple/pink coraline algae though, and they will often grow over it and cover it up.

I believe that green coralline is actually dead coralline that has algae on it.

Sometimes, but there is actual green colored coralline algae as well.
