Hermit Crab ID please?

Hi,

I bought these very plain hermit crabs at the LFS, thinking I would easily find them online when I got home... but 3 weeks later and I'm still looking. I would like to know exactly what they are to see how peaceful they are. One of them is very aggressive and jumps to my turkey baster when I am feeding. Any ideas?

I think it's a striped leg hermit ( Clibanarius Vitatus) I hope I spelled that correctly!
They are common here in Florida waters & can get pretty big! IMHO Keep an eye on it. They will eat whatever is at hand.

That is it, striped leg hermit. Good for FOWLR but not so good for reefs. As noted, will eat just about anything.

I (had) them, my LFS called them reef hermits. They will eat anything they can get ahold including each other. They more aggressive as they get bigger.
Keep an eye out, I had to get rid of them when they got to big.

I cathc those here in NC. I have found some in shells 12" long. Gah they can be mean too.

i have found them here in florida on dives that had claws that were 8-10inches long, they get REALLY big, id watch out for em
