Very easy LPS to frag cut the branches in skeleton area where there is no groowing tissue. Like pruning a tree.

honestly you can just snap the skeleton, no need to even cut it. Obviously it would have to be big enough not to damage the soft tissue near the heads. Or you can use a saw , nippers or a dremel to cut the branches. Do any cutting underwater and as stated just stay away from the head of the coral.
