The second one I think? My boyfriend doesn't explain things very clearly and I'm still learning. It had something to do with the overflow and the powerhead. He fiddled with the powerhead for awhile and it was fixed

I've seen powerheads create a pressure wave that, when it crossed the front of my overflow, caused the water to flow across it instead of in it. The the overflow starts to slow down and draw in air... Thus backing up in the DT...
