DIY Filter Socks?

I know I have seen it on here before but my search has found nothing. I am looking at using filter socks when I do a clean up of the tank to help get more debris out and remember seeing something about making your own. Does anyone know what material is used?

Naw, know nothing about a material that can be used, why when you can buy them so cheap?

I tried a number if things early on and to no avail. For 6$ spend the cash.

I want to say someone suggested pantyhose at one time, but I guess I will have to order some. I don't have many options where I live and was hoping I could find an alternative that I could get locally at Walmart or similar.

Filter socks are reusable and washable, buy you enough to use in a week's time and wash them weekly and your ready to go for another week.
