so i just acquired a 60g cube, and I'm planning on filling up the tank soon, and i was thinking instead of waiting a little less then 24 hours (75g/day) from my rodi unit, i could just throw the waste water into the tank also, is a 1 micron pre filter good enough for a fowlr?

Sure why not. If your gonna do that then just use tap water and throw the RODI unit in the trash.

Waiting is gonna be key in this hobby. If you can't wait one day for water you're gonna have bigger problems down the road.

To start you're gonna have to wait a month or so to even put a fish in.

Your RO/DI waste water particles are MUCH smaller than 1 micron by a huge order of magniture. The sock won't do anything. Yes, you will end up with tap water if you follow that plan. RO/DI water only!
