I would go with as big of a sump as you can fit, I would also stay away from coralife skimmers, there are plenty of quality skimmers out there that are in that price range

I use mine to control Lights, Moonlights, temperature probe monitors the chiller, heaters...Powerheads, skimmer etc all programmed to shut off during certain events such as feeding, I can also access my controller from my laptop to change and program certian settings....I suggest taking a look...

if you are going T5 aquaticlife fixtures are good, you could even go with some LED's like aquaillumination
