I wonder if the algae is a result of a different salt, not the salt itself? I have been using oceanic since I setup my tank. I have had no problems with algae once I started to use RO water.

Putting my vote in for the emeralds. Took care of my problem. I now have 2 emeralds that keep it gone. I see some now and again, by the time I think to check again, it is gone.

Yep, they will nip at you sometimes. Nothing unnormal. My 3 inch clark's have become a little more aggresive towards my hand when I am in the tank now that they are breeding.
