Boomer, Forgot to tell you. You can go with a 36" reflector from PFO which the MH mounts in the center and the 2-VHO's along the side. These reflectors are designed to run parrallel to ehe tank. They are excellent reflectors which I use on my tank.

Bommer, I would only go with one MH and 2 VHO's. One MH is suppose to handle a 2' x 2' area. I would center it and have 6" on each side. TWo MH you will probably have a heat issue even with the open top. Can you get 110 watt 36" VHO's?

I believe the AB 10K is more blue. Alot of vendors state that the AB buld is more like a 13K. I am running the 10K Ushio's right now and I can tell you they have a more yellow tint than the 10K CoralVue's that I was running.

According to the calculator on RC, 1" will give you 600 gph and 3/4" will give about 350 gph at a min. I have had more flow in a 1" before though. I personality would not tee both into one though. I believe that would slow down the gph some.

Bulheads use NPT(National Pipe Thread) and so does sch40 PVC. Maybe you have defective threads on your bulkheads.

Another good point brought up by Maxx about the 90's elbows. I use wyes instead of tees and flex pvc whenever possible. Also using two 45's together instead of a 90 will help giving you a smoother flow, but that does take up more room.
