Seafansar's 28 gallon JBJ LED nano

We finally decided to downsize from our 150 gallon and 40 gallon breeder to just a 12 gallon and a 28 gallon. Luckily we sold the 150 gallon set-up really quickly and used that money to get a JBJ 28 gallon LED nano. It's such a cool tank. The LED's are awesome and the dawn/dusk and moon lights make the corals glow! The daylight LED are extremely bright and are a nice crisp white. The only problem I have is that the daylight LED hum when they are on, but it's nothing compared to the MH's on the 150! lol. I'm not used to the house being this quiet!
Our plan for this tank is to make it a mixed reef with mainly chalices and zoas plus a few SPS, yumas, clove polyps, and plate corals. There's a pistol shrimp in there that we may find a goby for and a skunk cleaner shrimp. There is also a target mandarin and CBB in there. The CBB was getting out competed for food in my dad's tank, so I took him back and he looks just fine in the 28 gallon. He begs for food every time I go up to the tank. I've been feeding him a lot to try and fatten him up again. I've even gotten him to the point where he'll eat mysis out of my fingers!
Well enough chat, here are some pictures. I really wish I could take better pictures when the dawn/dusk lights are on, but the pictures do not show the bright colors at all.

Thanks! I've had him for a while in my 150 gallon. I gave him to my dad to put in his 125 gallon, but he started getting skinny in his tank. So I feel kind of bad putting him in such a small tank, but he seems alright with it and it allows me to feed him a lot.

Looks great Sara! I am happy you like the LED's. It will be interesting to watch the corals grow under them.
Not so sure about that butterfly being in such tight confinements though. This is a wild caught animal the was born on the open reef and is designed to graze for miles. It may be a health issue (mentally and physically) because of the swim room it has now~

Awesome tank. The story sounds familiar :) I downsized from a 175 to a 28 Gallon NanoCube. The amount of work to maintain was cut significantly. You'll love raising livestock in the nano. Super easy.

Yeah, the 150 was just too much work and my power bill was way too high. I've had the 12 gallon for a while now and have always loved that it only takes one bucket to do a 50% WC.

Frankie- This is a test run with the CBB. He did fine in my 150, but started getting skinny in my dad's 125. For now I'm just trying to fatten him up again by feeding him a little 4+ times a day. Depending on how he does will determine if he's going back to my dad's tank or not.

We added several things to the tank. We got a reef keeper lite to control the lights and heater. The controller is so cool! We also added a bunch of corals. Lots of pics!

Dawn/dusk and moon light pics (it's hard to capture the right colors. I can only change the white balance on my camera a little):

Yumas!

And my blurry mandarin. Don't worry, he's as fat as can be. He loves mysis! He learned how to eat frozen and pellets in my 150 gallon.

My superman chalice that came back from the brink of death. You couldn't see any tissue at all, but I refused to take it out of the tank and what do you know it came back!!!!

Nice tank! I can only imagine how awesome the corals look under the LEDs. That's the cryin' shame with LEDs, it's incredibly difficult to get good pics of/with them. Keep the pics coming! :D
