So iv been having some major issues with red slime algae, dead corals(hard corals), and out of wack perimeters all from using tap water for water changes and top-off. I know tap water is a big no no in the reefing hobby but my 120 gallon innovative marine tank is located on my second floor bedroom making it almost impossible to do major water changes. So i figured its time to protect my investments. After doing some major brain storming i realize the only place i can have a fair size mixing station would be in my closet.
Here are a few pics of what im doing so far.
Removing old 80GPD unit for AquaFX Great White 300GPD RO-DI unit. Unit will be mounting on the wall in the closet as it is too big to fit under bathroom sink.
Pan World 50PX-X Magnetic Water Pump
Two 55 gallon Barrels . One for RO/DI storage, and the other for mixing saltwater.
4X4 Pine will be used for the Legs on the 55 gallon Barrels.
Water Leak Detection Unit will be used on the lower pan just in case my plumbing sucks.
Test fit to see how much space lost with the barrels in place. I was lucky enough to install a power outlet from the outlet by the bathroom sink.
Final assembly of the barrel stand.
Pretty happy how the stand turned out. working on plumbing and creating a switch box for the pump now. Should have progress pics soon.
