WOW the first one is like being in a trench with an underwater volcano at the end all lith with special light very cool , good cam work there.

It appears that the contest ended. Very close competition. Very nice clam and photo for the second place. I love the color!

Thanks to all that voted for my photo (#1).

Some comments about my clam and technics used to get that photo.

This clam was in my 125 gallon reef until recently that died as a result of the invasion of blue mushrooms I have.

The winning photo is the result of one of my photo session were I get close to 100 photos of the same subject at different angles using my two lenses.

At the moment of the photos I had a Nikon D40x which was replaced with a Nikon D60. I have a 18-105mm Nikkor zoom and a Nikkor manual AIS 105mm macro. For some of the macros I used Kenko extention tubes. All photos are with a tripod and pumps off. That gives me the oportunity of shooting at slow speeds and apertures around f11 for better depth of field (focus).
