hey guys,
i just bought a new r/o garbage can and was wondering if i should use soap
to wash it out or just rinse and wipe dry??

No, do not use soap; it will leave a residue. You can use either clorox or vinegar to clean it. Just make sure to thoroughly rinse well and air dry.

No soap...rinse well, wipe or use something like a scotch-brite pad and vinegar to scour it with, rinse, rinse, but NO SOAP...
