beautiful, and dangerous I like the sound of this. What do you feed them and are they the spieces with a club or a spear?I've heard stories of mantis breaking glass tanks if they have the club.I really like them a lot though, very smart inverts.

well, i still havent found out if it is a male/female :)
doesnt really matter, just want to know

Doni, it depends on the person/place you get it from
my male OS and this one were in 5 very large bags, i guess they dont worry to much about them smashing out of the bags during shipping, i guess the bags do flex enough and none of the bags were damaged
the bags from the male i had, i cleaned them and used them to transport the Frontosa's i had, they didnt leak

beautiful, and dangerous I like the sound of this. What do you feed them
they will eat just about anything, i usually feed mine krill, but only on occasion
they need to use there ability to open shells or they will loose their smashers, for the lack of use, i dont have that much knowledge about the spears
i like the smashers

and are they the spieces with a club or a spear?

the Odontodactylus scyllarus (OS) are smashers
mine is working on a turbo snail right now, man it is loud, lol

I've heard stories of mantis breaking glass tanks if they have the club.
yes there are some that have broken glass, and let me tell you, mine could with the way it has split open a piece of fiji rock, that was cool
this is in a 30g glass tank, to be honest i dont see any danger, but you never know

I really like them a lot though, very smart inverts

it is hard to believe how smart they are untill you have one
water quality is sometimes tricky, for one it is a 30g tank and sometime they will leave a portion a food either hidden for later or i guess they dont like the meat and just leave it, which i found odd, this will foul up the param's, as you know. much easier than taking care of a reef tank, lol
