:D It's photo contest time again so start uploading your photos!

December's contest theme will be "tentacles". Show off any photo of your marine inhabitants with tentacles, whiskers, or antennae, etc. in it! (anemone, coral polyps, snail antennae, etc.)

The winner will receive up to $50 off on a special hand-made glass-blown prize! ... art glass, reef tools, or whatnot! :)

Rules:
1) ONE photo per contestant,
2) No heavily photoshopped photos are allowed. The photos should be as raw/normal/untouched as possible. Minimal editing such as cropping, brightness/contrast adjustments, and resizing are acceptable.
3) Photo subject matter must be from the member's tank (or household tank).
4) Photos that have previously won any other contest are not allowed,
5) Photos MUST be uploaded to the January 2011 POTM Galleryby midnight (EST) December 31st.
Sorry, no moderators allowed to participate in this contest.






A voting poll for all uploaded photos will be available January 1st and will remain open through the 10th.

Only photos uploaded into the photo gallery will be included in the voting poll!

wow, Edison, that looks crazy! is it under LEDS or just actinics?? and what animal/coral is it?

Also, to anyone who tried to PM me, I've cleaned out my PM box, so now messages will actually go through. =)

That's a Rock Flower anemone and was lit with two LED moonlights and 4 T-5s & they are two Purple Plus and two Blue Plus both made by ATI. According to the LFS guy, that combination is best for both growth and viewing.

I just replaced the 14K MH with a 21K Megachrome Blue. The corals seem to like it, I haven't noticed any decrease in CA or KH uptake so growth may be as good as the old 14K. Not sure about that yet, I will watch the tank carefully.
