A bit of a nightmare last weekend to be quite honest as my StevesLEDs went with a bang, quite literally, and my tank was plunged into darkness.
It turned out that the bang came from the 24V power supply which had decided to spectacularly fail with a bang and small buff of smoke!
Now what should I do!?!
The PSU was clearly beyond repair and my corals could not wait 1 to 2 weeks for a replacement from the US. I decided therefore to try and source one locally, which being a Sunday was not easy. Anyhow I managed to track one down about 30 minutes drive away which I duly collected and fitted to get me up and running again (phew!).
StevesLED's have refunded the cost of this, well almost, but I believe I now have a better power supply (hopefully!). Its a branded unit "TDK-Lambda SWS150-24". Its nice and quiet, no noisy fan keep switching on and off as its designed to cool by convection. This does mean it runs warmer but that's how its designed.
Datasheet below if any ones interested;

Fingers crossed this does not fail!
