What is this? Is it bad? if it is how do i get rid of it?!?!

What is this and how do i get rid of it? I left for college, came home and it is growing like wildfire!?!? it is like a vine looking thing, and it has little bubbles on it... it doesnt look like bubble algae... Also i have a hair algae problem and i have no idea... i have tried a lot of things to get rid of it... ive tried emerald crabs, astrea snails, going in and removing it by hand, nothing seems to work....

Its a Caulerpa species and as long as any of its root-like holdfasts are left behind when you pull it, it will simply grow back.
With a 220 gallon tank, I would suggest a proper clean up crew that includes one or more brown scopas tangs and a LOT of snails to help with the hair algae. I would like to suggest that you put that hair algae to work for your system as well. A simple installation of an algae turf scrubber will work towards keeping dissolved nutrients under control while providing another habitat for a lot of life to live and breed in.
