what is it?

Noticed this attached to one of my rocks today. The tank is still cycling, so I haven't added any coral or fish, but this may have come with some of the LR I added on top of the base rock.



Can anyone identify what it is? I've search the tank. As best as I can tell...this is a solo act.

Any chance you can take some more pics of it closer and in different light?

What color is it?

Does it appear to be hard or soft?

It appears to be tan in color and translucent. soft and moving easily with the water flow. I'll try and take another picture soon.

i noticed that one a couple of my coral have, what appears to be clauvaria (spelling?) overgrowing it. here's a picture of one of them:




Does anyone know how to get rid of this overgrowth? It's not ugly, but it'll become a problem for my other coral
