Trachyphillia Feeding - Confused!

I've had this neon green trachy for about 6 months and he's never fed. He seems OK, otherwise, though not growing particularly. I figured that was just the way they were. Then I recently (about 3 weeks ago) got another trachy. This one's green with a dark red rim. I've been amazed by how enthusiastically he eats. I squirted him with a little coral food from a turkey baster and he opened his mouth wide and ate. I gave him some fish food and he seemed to like it. Then I gave him a small bit of silverside and he just inhaled it!

So what's causing this difference? ate these different sub-species? or is my neon green not well?

Please do advise and share your experiences.

Could certainly be their history... of being fed or not. But in general all corals will learn to eat as much as they can.
