It's not the zombie apocolypse but it is back from the dead !
About 7-8 months ago I really slacked off on testing water parameters, trusting in water changes alone and lost a couple pricey SPS frags. One of them was Vivid's Tri-Color acropora which had lost all color, turned gray and appeared to be completely dead so I broke it off at the base of the rock.
A few months later after I moved to a larger tank and got serious about maintaining calcium, magnesium and alkalinity I started noticing a little bit of green growth over the rock were the acro had been. Another 2 months later here we are, I'm sure it's going to make a full recovery now from the little bit that had encrusted over onto the live rock before I removed the frag.
Next time I lose a coral I won't be so quick to throw in the towel.
