Red with white "spikes" (more fuzzy than spiky) catepillar thing

The title says it all, i only caught a glimpse of it for a second so i wont be able to provide a picture, but it looked kinda like a catepillar and had white fuzzy spikes on the top and both sides

No, ive seen bristle worms, this is something different, and a lot smaller....but its deffinetely not a bristle worm

when you say smaller then a bristleworm could you be more specific? I've seen some pretty darn small bristleworms , can't imagine if it was smaller then the smallest bristleworm how it was visible. Or do you mean it was smaller as in more slender then a bristleworm? tough to make an ID on description but I want to make sure I'm understanding.

baby bristleworm? There are a lot of different varieties, but red/orange with white spikes is the most common. It's unlikely that any two bristleworms will look alike.
