Red sea Algae Control test kit & Phosphate X Reducer.

Morning all,

I've got an algae problem. I've invested in the Red Sea Algue Control kit as well as the Phosphate Reducer.

My question is can I use Chemipure Elite at the sometime as using the Red Sea course or should I complete the Red Sea course first. The Red Sea Phosphate Reducer says not to be used in conjunction With other Phosphate removes. Is Chemipure Elite classified as a Phosphate remover.

Chemipure elite does have GFO in it, so technically yes it is a phosphate reducer. IMO I doubt it would bother the Red Sea Products, but if you want to comply 100%, I would swap it for GAC.

Both of these products work in different ways to achieve the same result (if my understanding of the RS product is correct: I do not use it) The RS product fosters bacteria that processes nitrate & phosphates, where it is consumed by some inverts and captured by the skimmer. Sort of a distant cousin to vodka dosing. Ferric oxide and other products absorb and contain it.
