so ive gone bare bottom so as I was adding my rocks I was very careful to have no slippage but now I feel like my tank has become a jumbled rock mess....

is something like this reef safe, so I could at least mount rocks together to get some bridges and overhangs and not worry about slipping on the glass bottom...

I was thinking about using epoxy to hold the rods in place in holes that I can drill , however ive been having trouble finding reed safe epoxy sticks recently... hmmm

I kile it where holes are drilled in the rock and a threaded nylon rod is pushed into the holes to keel them in place. No epoxy needed

Jason I've read many times those driveway markers are safe but I've always just ordered several sticks of acrylic directly from US Plastics. They have a crazy selection and very good prices. Been using them for years with no problem.

I'm glad to know JB Weld UNDERWATER is reef safe.. VERY glad to know :)

Before you do anything, make sure you have a serious aquascape plan. If you just start making overhangs and bridges, you tank can quickly look very artificial.

Take a good look at aquascapes done for similar sized tanks. Consider what you like and don't like. I also recommend taking a look at Takashi Amano's FW planted aquascapes, and consider the use of rock work and plants. Then think of the plans as corals and the rocks as live rock. See some examples here (offsite) - http://amanotakashi.net/portfolio/nature_aquarium/index.html I know it's sacrilegious to say this on a reef forum, but there are people that have ditched their reef systems to have planted FW tanks like these.
