Purple tip anemone

Can anyone tell me what they know about the purple tip anemone? I was in my LFS this afternoon and I noticed a beautiful anemone they called a purple tip. It was inexpensive so I just wondered what the deal was???thanks

i'd say its a pink tip condy anemone. Condylactis spp.

yes for the most part.. not for clowns

Like what Sam said clowns don't host them and I have had one eat my fish way back

well then, sounds like it's something I'll be staying away from. I learned pretty early on that you don't make impulse buys in saltwater...Glad I asked...Thanks

Maroon Clowns host in them sometimes. I have a Condy in a 14G BC with one Maroon - 2 years now together. Though B4 I got the Condy I suspect this particular Clown would host in it since it was hosting in a fake anemone I placed in the tank.
