Pods eating my Hammer coral?

I have a very nice orange hammer coral that has been fighting brown jelly disease for about two weeks. I initially fragged it and thought it worked. However, the bjd did not stop. I have now done two dips with Lugols in the past five days. I actually cannot see any brown jelly anymore but it is slowly still losing tissue. The past two mornings I wake up and find pods crawling all over the dead part. Is it possible that they are eating it or are they only eating the dead tissue?

Ditto to Blade. They may "nip" as some living tissue but that's about it. They are working hard to clean things up as they are happening.

Do you have it in good current to help "slough off" nasties and such? Do another dip. I've done up to 2 a day for a few days.
