So... it's been a bumpy ride!!! I wish I would have found you guys sooner!
But, the tank is coming along!

This was the tank about a month ago...

I had to part with my maze brain to make room for a bubble tip anemone...
tanknow.jpg

We were told by LFS that it was an ultra grade bubble tip anemone...

We've now discovered it will NEVER have bubble tips... :closed:
And it migrated to the other side in the back where we can't see it...

grr....:ponder2:

The clownfish refused to house it anyway.....
They have all of the sudden taken to my wellsophyllia...

Here are a couple of other pics of things you can't see very well from the tank pictures....

I hope I didn't go overboard...
Question, comments, and critiques... are all GREATLY appreciated....

Thank you!
and, yes that is a pagoda cup.
We bought it with some damage... but it is starting to recover.
Plus, we like it because our clown goby lives in it!

Wow! Very nice looking tank to both of you :)

how big is the mushroom in this pic?
tankright.jpg

The reason I ask is a local reefer here has some of those in his tank and once they get to a certain size they are "Fish Eaters". I'm off to look for his pic to compare it to yours just to be sure :)

GREAT tank :)

Amber (and Jake),
Nice tank, guys. I like the various colors (that open brain/Wellsophyllia is awesome).
I have a rose BTA and his anchor point is on the back of the rock work. He was barely visible, but by adding some rubble/small rocks to the upper part of my rockscape, I was able to shade the area in the back of the tank he would expand into when the lights came on. Since then he expands to the front of the tank (didn't change his anchor point) and I get a great view of him and his clownfish buddy. I can't tell from the photos if that would work for your shy anemone, but it sure was an easy fix for me.
Keep us updated on your tank,
Kurt

Well, I tried to grab some quick pics of the tank to remedy both of those topics.

The mushrooms aren't currently out, but this pic allows you to see that there are actually 9 of those specimens on that rock.
The biggest being around 4.5 in i believe......

I also tried to get a picture of the anemone's location in comparison to everything around it, bc I would like to find a way to do what you suggested.
However... it has moved...... after 2 weeks of sitting right there it seems to be venturing somewhere else...

But, after reading and getting to know the site a little better... I think I have discovered that you guys LIKE pictures...
So here's a couple other tank inhabitant pics...

This is Batman and Robin...
sgpair.jpg

They use to be in a much more viewable location...
But the vilanous Joker (escape artist black mithrax hitchhiker) moved them!
He is now a one-clawed crab because we have tried to excavate him... but he's very tricky!

And this is Jackie... she sleeps upside down in this rock every night...

If you'll notice, Mayor West (white tailed pygmy angel) is an almost every pic. -- For some reason he loves to be in pictures

now the nem has moved to this location...

It has decent flow.. but relatively no light so I doubt it will stay...

But.. the good news is ...
anemoneclowns.jpg

The clowns immediately approached it when it emerged here.

If you can't tell the location it is underneath the sharp rock with zoanthus on it (ie jackie's home).

lol thanks... they follow a couple of story lines.
Obviously-- Batman, Robin, and Joker.

But, in addition to Mayor West we have Meg-- the clown goby
bc when we got her we never liked her (family guy)

and then we have Jackie, Kelso, Fes, Eric, and Donna-- (that 70s show)
its only natural since the female clown is so much bigger than the male that they be donna and eric

Well.. let me explain.
I at one point wanted one of every clown goby color!!!
haha
Anyhow.. I started with a yellow clown-- my favorite! he adorned the pagoda cup...
Then I added a green clown, [eyeroll] meg, she ran the other one out and would fight him everytime it came back and eventually led to the death of the yellow clown... so i didn't like her!
hence--meg--
