Open Brain Sick

I have a Open Brain that I've had for about 1-1/2 years that has done fantastic then starting last week it seemed to always be very small. I had to go out of town for 3 days this week and when I got back home on Thursday night I looked at the brain and it cover half covered with sand, when I picked it up to clean it off, half the brain was gone like it melted away.

Has anyone else had this problem? I checked the water and all levels are fine.

Yeah, what I used to do when I had a sandbed was place a flat rock in the sand a bit under the brain so sand would not get blown up around the edges of the coral.

Also if a brain/favia becomes a little damaged by sand you can scrub off the area, remove it from the water, and apply a bit of super glue gel to the dead spot. This helps ditritus/algae from growing in the damaged area and the coral will often repair itself.

Or just go barebottom like me. heehee
