Hello all,
I have had a 50gal tall fish only tank for about 12 years. In the beginning we had a few corals. Then a power outage during the summer while we were out of town killed everything. I gave up on corals at that point.
The 50gal tall sprung a leak 4" from the bottom last week. We quickly went out and purchased a 55 rectangle, and moved everything we could into it. Lisa went out and found a 85gal bent glass tank, with the thoughts of doing a full reef. We got everything in the new tank from the old one, and have had a small cycle within the tank (which I expected). I have never run a skimmer, but will be purchasing one in the next few days.
My pH is 8.2-8.3, ammonia and nitrates are very low. The temp is about 78F-80F.
So I am here to do research and learn all I can to keep the maintenance up and have a happy environment for the marine life. We would like to add more corals mainly.
Sorry to be long winded, and have a great day.
Kenny
