My Son's BioCube has bubbles everywhere

Its true there are bubbles everywhere?!?!?!? All over the rocks, corals, etc. The water level is good as I check it when i get home everyday. what the heck is going on?

Also,There is some sizable green algea building up on the sand but I am sure that its there because the white light has only been on for a week and its brand new. I think I may turn it down some and slowly raise the amount of time that it is on. The tank has been running for 3 months with only the actinic on, we had some electric issue that are now resolved and the white light is now working.

So, if you can help with bubbles, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

check your water parameters - the bubbles are probably from a type of algae that is growing. biocubes are tough to maintain water parameters, which causes the algae to grow.

post back your results.

Is it clear bubbles over brownish/red algae, or is it brown or green bubbles?

Its either cyano as it releases gas by-product (clear bubbles), or bubble algae. As far as I know the fix for both is the same: nitrate and phosphate reduction, and time. If I am wrong someone more experienced than me should correct me, lol.

try and post a pic. it's easier to try and ID the problem and give advice.

Here are some questions for you:

what are your water readings
when was your last water change?
are you running a skimmer?
if so when was the last time you cleaned it?
have you tried to RAISE the water level in chamber 3 a little higher?

post up your answers and hopefully we can help you out!
