My NewRed Sea Max 250

Hi Everyone! Just thought I would share some pictures of my Max 250. I have 90 lbs of Vanuatu Live Rock, 1/4 hp Pacific Coast Imports Chiller running with a Mag-Drive 9.5 pump, Vent kit for the chiller, 3 Maxi-Jet 1200's with Sure Flow Mods for total water circulation. No fish yet but the tank is almost done with its cycle! I'll try to keep you updated!

nice! i like the idea of the pump blowing behind your rockwork, will stop detritus gathering there.

Will be good to see it grow.

The extra pumps really work well. There is a lot of water movement but not overkill! He heating problem with the 250's have been talked about for a while, so I just thought that I would add a chiller to solve the problem. I did move some rocks around and did some more aquascaping yesterday! I used egg crates for lights to raise the live rock off of the bottom of the tank so the water could get under all the rocks. Nothings left untouched. About 95% of the rocks are off of the bottom, and almost no rocks are touching the back wall. I'll try to get some pics up later of what I did.

Here are a few Pictures of my aquascaping project! You can still see part of the egg crate but it should be covered over time! There is a lot more caves and room for the fish to swim in and through. A Hydor Koralia 3 is moving water through the rear wall behind the rocks. Let me know what you guys think! Remember, I'm new to this!

Just a little update. My tank is now done with its cycle! The other day I added a Clarkii Clown and and an Haddoni Carpen Anemone. Both are thriving! Have a look!

I also added a Red Sea WaveMaster Pro to the Aquarium to simulate more of a reef environment. I hooked up the 3 Maxi-jet Powerheads to the Wavemaster. The product seems to be working great! Go Red Sea! :bluenod:

Sweet tank, only thing I would add is same thing I said to you in another thread. Put the pics up on photobucket or something like it so they are bigger. You have a sweet setup going, would be great to see bigger pics.

Don't know if this will work for the larger pictures! Here it goes.

Thanks for the info and great pics. I am trying to choose a pump to run a chiller off of because my red sea will not stay cool enough. I noticed you are running a mag 9.5. Any noise issues with that? Also how did you get that size of a pump down in the back of the tank?

Thanks,
Solinaman
