Hi Guys

i need some help here,i have a RSM250, my left hand power head is pumping out micro bubbles, when i switch off the skimmer and wait a few minutes the tank runs clear again, this points to the skimmer being the issue, now then how do i solve this problem, i have adjusted the cup and the water level to were it should be i have checked the salinity and its good, i have opened the air valve and then slowly closed it it make a nice skim but still they come, the bubbles that is.

i am off on vacation for two weeks as of Friday morning, can i leave the skimmer switched off, there are no fish in the tank only CUC.

please help someone.

cheers

Hey Pete, do you have the c model? If so, I stuck a sponge down the bottom of the heater camber ( left of skimmer) to reduce the bubbles floating to the top caused by the overflow of the skimmer. Worked for me, but now i have another filter to clean every month...

Hi Seans Ocean
no i just have the std model, i am quite new to all this but from what i an reading the stock skimmer is not as good as it should be which in all fairness surprises me as the tank is superb and Red Sea get such a good name.

anyway i will keep plodding on and try and sort this issue out, its just a big learning curve.

thanks for the reply

cheers

I never had micro bubbles !!!!

Please read my Skimmer set-up starting on this posting (see pictures) : http://www.reefsanctuary.com/forums...niels-tank-upgrade-rsm-250-a.html#post1253484

Also read this posting link that is in my posting too (see pictures) : http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=19974961&postcount=6

That is all what you have to do. I followed exactly what Red Sea Tech guy wrote and added the air valve to be able to control the air intake. Skimmer has been from Day 1 working perfectly
