making a makeshift refugium

hey guys... so in my new setup I just dot have room for a separate fuge. I was going to try and attach a small tank but cant get one drilled and its not panning out.
so I had an idea... dangerous sometime... I have an extra phosphate reactor... if I use a weaker pump than normally attached water flows through nice and steady, could I throw a hunk of chaeto in there, I know I'd probably have to prune it more often, and just use that as a makeshift sump for nutrient export?

Probably a little too small and may be more trouble than it's worth TBH.

You can use a Rubbermaid container and gravity feed it to your sump if you can make that work...

I'm not sure what your setup looks like but many people have used cheap plastic containers for a fuge with great success.

Just make sure the container that you use is strong enough to handle the volume of water in it.

I learned that one the hard way:)
