I just recently added a pygmy hawkfish to my 20 gallon reef about 3 weeks ago and so far everyone is getting along fine. The only other fish I have in there are a crested blenny and a frillfin goby whos still a juvenile. Since theses fish are pretty closely related I would think you shouldnt have too much trouble if you keep him feed.

Mine is your worst nightmare if you're a pellet of fish food. Otherwise, the worst he ever does is try to sit in the same place as my lawnmower blenny.

However, one concern I have is the bioload on a 20L. You may have trouble controlling excess nutrients after throwing another fish into the mix.
