LF Small Bio Cube for Christmas for my son

Hello,

My 13yr old son has expressed an interest in a small tank and I thought the bio-cube would be the way to go. After being around SW tanks for most of his life, it would be the only way for him to go.

Rather than dropping alot on a brand new one, I am thinking of looking for a used one.

Does anyone think they may have one available in the next few months?

Thansk,

My lfs sells used cubes and nanos and im sure i could pick one up for you. They usually go pretty cheap, i know right now they have a 12g nano with stand for $100....?

I found a bio cube 14g (no mods, no skimmer, basic 2x24watt PC lights) on Craigslist for $80. It still has the sand, but my son is looking at the black sand with white specs.
Skimmer at our LFS is $30
New charcoal Filter $10

Is that a good deal?

the only thing to keep in mind when buying them is the age of the PC lights. If they need to be replaced that can add $60 to the cost.

The seller said he only had the system on for 2 mos before upgrading. I am one of those stupid people who believe what people say until I find out they are lie-ing.
